Flying Dolphin MM2047 Tug Plan

This tug was somewhat unique in the Clyde
Shipping Company fleet in that she was
built in 1959 outside the UK by the
F. Schichau GMBH shipyard at Bremerhaven
in Germany.This shipyard specialised in the
constr uction of trawlers, tugs, ferries and ships
of up to 8,000 tons. Possibly this was
occasioned by fact that suitable UKbuilders
were busy or some favourable cr edit terms
were available at the time.
